A Month and a Few Days to Go!

So I've bee working feverishly
with the soup that Tari sent me.
Trying all sorts of combinations.
We have a just a month and a
few days left before all revealing takes place.
I hope she is having as much fun with what I sent her
as I am with what she sent me.
This is what I sent Tari.
Here are the photos she took
(which are way better than mine)

We're all Ears ~ Creative Challenge

This adorable Beatrix Potter illustration
was the inspiration
for this months "We're all Ears"
Earring challenge over at Earrings Everyday.
Yeah Spring is here!
Well, on the Calendar at least.
So looking forward to an end to this winter!
Anyway, lovin' colors and flowers in the illustration.
So much so I made two pairs of earrings this time.
Hardly visible are the paddle head pins I used.
It  reminded me of the needle in the mouses hand.
I'm loving how the post portion of the
second pair of earrings
mimics the diamond pattern of the quilt.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out
what I came up with.
To see what the other participants did just click
on the Earrings Everyday link above.
Thank You Erin for the motivation to
dig around in the things I have
and make something.

Art is in...

"Art is in the Artist, not in the palate."
from the Red a Green Show

Okay you caught me.
I was watching Red Green yesterday and I heard Harold say this.
So profound Harold.

I did a Google search to see if it was a quote he was re-quoting.
My searches didn't turn up anything.
But I thought I'd share the thought.

Have a great day all you lovely Artist out there.
Not matter what your palate may be.

My Soup is Here!

First off... Tari, took an ordinary box
and made it a special treasure.
She drew one of  her delightful birds
on the box.
Then there was this amazing teal fiber.
Now I haven't got into felting...but it looks felt-able.
(Is that even a word...felt-able)
In the pink pouch was all this
yummy beady goodness.
A most excellent amazing soup, Tari.
Words can't thank you enough!
I love it!
Now onto the task of designing

Bead Soup is on it's way!

My bead soup partner is Tari Karhs.
A talented artist & former Michi-gander.
Now living in sunny California
with her adorable boys and hubby.
Tari, here is your sneak peak.
The real deal will be shown when
I hear that you've received your
bead soup package.

Last fall we, my husband and I were able to get away
 to visit
some friends and family in Florida.
When visiting our dear friends John and Debbie in Delray,
we took a stroll along the pier.
Where we took home some natural treasures
from the beach.
Among all the shells I saw this one.
It called out to me to pick it up and take it home.
Well, actually Chip picked it up because he
was on the beach and
I was still on the pier looking down.
Tonight I decided it was time to make
something with it.
I also decided  it was a good time to use the
Green Girl puffer fish.
I guess I'm really longing for the
warmer days of summer.
