Mojo Monday ~ 431

This is what I came up with using this layout for inspiration.
Items I used:
Sizzix Snowflake embossing folder,
Spellbinder various dies,
Greeting Farm and Verve stamps,
pink foil, glitter stack papers,
Tim Holtz and SU! papers.
Not your typical colors for snowflakes.
But if they had winter in Florida
it might loo like this.
Will be sending this to my Parents in Florida.

Mojo Monday 429
The End of 2015 to 2016
has brought me to a few new to me discoveries.
One - Verve Stamps
Two - these Card Challenges
over at Mojo Monday.

Mine is a double challenge for me since this is
my least favorite of Greens
and since I am not one to throw
perfectly good card stock away...
I needed to see what I might come up with.
I ended up pairing it with Prima coffee paper.
Used one of my Anya Greeting Farm stamps,
Pulled out the copic markers to color her.
Grabbed a Martha Stewart branch punch,
Marianne Designs flower punches, Spellbinder die,
and my newly acquired
Verve coffee themed stamp and dies.
Added few embellishments and glitter to finish it off.
I've enjoyed card making for years.
And challenges like this ...well,
they are just fun!

Thinking of You Cards
Plain Blank cards transformed into
Thinking of You cards.
Got out images I had printed for other projects
and scrap bits of this and that.
Kept them real simple and flat for mailing.
Several years ago I had my motto made into a stamp.
(Funny thing is I hardly ever use it.)
But it seemed to work for me here.
Now to get busy and send these out.

Death, Death, and more Death
I've had my share this year of losses.
First my cat, then the sudden death my older brother
and then my friend Cathy.
Another friend lost his wife a month ago
and then just recently his grown daughter.
Yet another friend and Elder in my congregation
lost his mother to death recently.
Now another friend had to make the painful decission to
take her husband off of life support.
And then Yesterday my girl friend, Johnnie, who
I have know since I was 9 years old
just lost her father.
Each loss is different and each one heart wreching.
Several years ago Johnnie's dad and my hubby, Chip
were in the hospital at the same time.
Chip to reattach his bicep muscle and
her dad for quadruple bypass surgery.
We helped each other then.
I hope I will be able to comfort her now.
Needless to say...
I needed to make alot of sympathy cards.
Didn't have enough creative energy to
make them all different. So I made them all the same.
Half of them are gone already.
The beautiful photo was taken my my niece Kelly.
Having to deal with the pain of death
is not the way God intended things to be.
Thankfully under Christs Rule
1 Corinthians 15:26 will be fulfilled where it says..
"As the last enemy, death is to be brought to nothing."

Simple & Sweet
Two years ago our dear friends
Ron & Kathy's son Matt and
Jesse & Dorothy's daughter Twylah
were married.
It's had to believe that much time
has passed by already.
So a last minute Anniversary party is in the works!
5 days ago it was a pot luck at a friends house
and about 18 people.
It is now grown to about
30 or so friends and family.
and now will be held at a club house.
It is amazing how much can get done
in such a short period of time!
Congratulations to the happy couple,
Matt and Twylah!
May you be blessed with many many more.

Cards for a Friends
An unexpected surprise came to me this week.
I had two different friends request that I
make some cards for them.
I was delighted and honored to fill their requests.
The first two were for an engagement and an anniversary.
I neglected to to take a picture of them
before she came to pick them up.
Then I got a call from one of the the friends
that she given the cards to.
And she wanted 3 cards for her family.
So this is what I created especially for her.
The smaller cards are done with her color requests

Winter Tea
Planning a Winter Tea Party for January.
for some of the elderly ladies
in our congregation.
We have 18 including ourselves.
My friend Katherine and I decided on
a Snowflake theme.
Thought I would share some of the projects
we have been working on for the party.
A simple snowflake embossed invitation.
Sizzix embossing folder, Martha Stewart snowflake punch,
Pink glitter paper from DCWV, star brad & sheer white ribbon.
A tea cup made out of recycled mat board.
Sizzix tea cup XL die, DCWV Luxury stack papers,
misc. trims & embellishment.
Katherine is going to crochet scarves for the ladies.
I was going to do earrings.
But some of the ladies either don't wear them
or wear clip-ons.
So I'm gifting the ladies with this style of scarf pin.

Another Creative Friday
So I've had a late start to visiting all the blogs that signed up for
Where Blogger Create.
Because that Friday I spent the day with Deb creating cards.
I wanted to play with some new images I bought from
I'm embracing and complaining all at the same time
as to why it takes me so long to create.
So it took all day to create these two cards and to make a
paper purse using one of Deb's new
Sizzix Pro dies
It's assembled and partially decorated.
I have to add a few more embellishments to it.
So I'll wait until it is finished to post it.
This was created for a friend who loves to fish.
This is for me to have on hand for any occasion.

Lolli ~ an Older TGF Stamp
I got the last one of Lolli Anya
at Funky Kits of the UK
Apparently she is an older Greeting Farm stamp.
Since I just started getting these stamps last year.
She was new to me.
I choose to put the sentiment inside
and there sufficient room to write a little note.
Then I played with this free digi stamp from
The Greeting Farm.
I removed what I didn't want and kept the rest.
Admittedly not the best cards I ever made.
But I still had fun putting them together.
Thanks for Looking!

Kraftin' Kimmies Card Challenge #66
Just got some of the new Kraftin Kimmie's stamps.
This one is Abigail Apple.
Thought I would go ahead with the latest
and that
I would challenge myself to also use some paper
that was gifted to me as a hostess gift.
I have no idea who makes it.
I have her holding the sentiment that says
You're as Sweet as ...
Inside it will say
... apple pie!
Is there more that can be done to this card?
Of course.
The question I ask myself is...
Will I?

Card Holder
I had purchased several of these paper mache cardholders from Stampington some years ago for a class. Last time I checked they no longer sell them. I had two left over and decided it was time to to decorate them. So I kept one and gave the other one to Deb. What a week she had. Hopefully this project cheered her up a bit.
So we painted and decorated our cardholders to our liking. I had some rusty elements that I had purchased and these rusty hearts Deb had given me in a R.A.K. I used specialty papers from Tim Coffey's Tuscan Sunflowers by K&Co. That beautiful lollipop flower that matched perfectly was made by Deb and she gifted it to me. I was in the mood to use up what I have...what am I holding on to it for...So I did.

Some Simple Cards
The last two Artistic Fridays that Deb of It's All Good and I had we made some cute cards. The first four you see here are images that Deb stamped and colored with our new Copic markers. These were less than perfect to she gave them to me. Yippee for me.... half the work is done. So I couldn't let them go to waste. Just had to pick out some pretty papers and embellishments. I tried to keep them on the simple side so they can actually be put in an envelope and use. I doubt anyone will know what's not right about them. The last three I stamped and colored. It was great to get out our embossing folders, punches and Sizzix and Spellbinder dies and actually use them. We just love these images from the Greeting Farms, Lili of the Valley and Pure Innocence.
Deb stamped and colored the Image. I embellished
