Art Bead Scene ~ June Challenge

Feuilles 1928
By Seraphine Louis

This painting of leaves by Seraphine
served for this months
Art Bead Scene challenge.

I went a head and rented
 this critically acclaimed movie
"Seraphine"
Invited Katherine T. who also like to participate
in the ABS challenges to watch it with me.

My favorite part of the movie was
 how they portrayed her success.
In a way it reminded me of Shirley temple
 in the Little Princess.
Also when they showed her collecting
pigments from various sources.
Something we are told she did not reveal.
So if that part in the movie of her collecting wax
wasn't fictionalized...
We may know why these paintings
have a waxy look to them.

For more information about the
artist you can check out this link. to the ABS post.

I snagged this Bracelet connector by Susi Q Beads
 when I saw it on
one of the ABS posts on Etsy finds.
I love to make bracelets.
So I went for it!
Added a few Gaea beads and Vintaj leaves.
Along with some misc. beads and findings.

Epic Inspiration Jewelery Design Challenge

Melissa over at Bead Recipes is hosting
the Epic Inspiration Jewelry Design Challenge.
For all the details check out this post link.
Downton Abbey is the TV series I selected.
The cast, the settings, the story lines have kept me as well
as many others riveted over these past seasons.
I thought this piece would look great on Lady Rose.
It's traditional with a modern twist.
And that is how I would describe Rose.

When she appeared on the show I really
didn't know what to make of her other than
I knew she was going to spice things up a bit.
Apparently I wasn't the only one...

Jack,"Well she is quite a character."
Mrs, Hughes, " Lady Rose? That's one word for her."

Her necklaces are long but not too long.
So I followed suit with this one...
Here is a close up of the piece.
Items used:
Victorian Bezel setting with Shell cabochon,
smooth coin and hex Hematite beads,
turquoise Shell nuggets, Abalone shell oval beads,
Czech beads, Decorative rectangle puff beads.
Simple looping and metal chain.

other participants select for their Epic Inspiration.
