Cigar Box Purse

I recently decided to participate in an
Altered cigar box swap over at
Creating a Craft Life ning site.
My Swap Partner was Leslie.
The color theme was Lavender and Cream.
We were to stuff the box with laces and trims.
This is what I created for Leslie.
She likes shabby chic.
I  just hope she likes what I created for her.
The piece of ephemera says Spring Opening.
Which I thought was perfect for this month of May
Spring swap.
Love this illustrated image of the lady!
Decided to add a beaded dangle charm
from the handle.

And then tied on a bow with
sheer cream ribbon.
The back or bottom (depending how she stores it)
was left smooth.
I found this pretty lavender and cream paper at Joann's.
As well as the faux pearl handle.
And then I made this little
Thank You for being my swap partner card
from the left overs that I didn't use on the box.
Hope she likes it!
And thanks for stopping by.

from Kay.

I  re-purposed the earring again as a focal.
Added some of the lamp-work beads I had
as well as some glass pearls,
snow quartz and white Mts jade beads.

Kay is my Mom's friend and now...
my personal bead fairy.
Thanks Kay!

China Painting Inspiration

When I saw these ceramic beads that Kay had sent to me.
I immediately thought of Deb.
Who has done beautiful china painting in the past.
So I got to working on a design I was hoping she would like.
Collecting just the the right beads to compliment the ceramic beads..
Loving the ruby agate I found on Auntie's Beads.
Thanks to my friend Katherine who had
the larger sizes of the lime green pearls.
Now I was finally happy with the bead selection.
Deb's has had a lot on her plate for the past few months.
So when she stopped by for a quick visit today
I thought this might cheer her up!
I think it did. After figuring out the magnetic clasp
she put the bracelet on and modeled it for this photo.
A perfect fit!
Here is a sample of her china painting.
She had gifted me this delightful cup and saucer set
some time ago.

Moonlight Journey ~ Flower Girl

Using a Flower girl from the
I used a portion of a Photo bracelet kit
with Swarovski crystals to frame out the image.
Suspended on silver tone chain and
accented with a pearl charm.
Photo was taken with another pearl necklace.
Love the layered look !
