Hosting My First Tag Swap

Image of Alice found online the background is from Itkupilli
Participating in Tag Swaps can be alot of fun.
Meeting new artists and exchanging our little works of art.
I'm Looking for 9 Ladies with blogs to participate plus me.
All ten of us will exchange with all that sign up.
I'm also looking for ladies that take pride in their work
and are excellent about deadlines.
I have listed several of the Alice in Wonderland characters to select from.
First come first serve but there are plenty yummy characters to choose:
Swap sign up is now closed. 8/29/09
Cheshire Cat...Me
Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum...Nancy
Let's add these two chaps to the mix. You can picture them both or separate.
Once you have selected your character you can start
doing the research, Tim Burton, Disney, Traditional illustrations from the Lewis Carroll...you pick your image and papers and embellishments
I've chosen the Cheshire Cat.
My tag will be 3 1/2" x 6" cut out of mat board.
It will mostly be all the same with the exception of
perhaps switching up some embellishments.
Please make your tags 3 1/2" x 6" out of mat board or the like.
I would prefer that you do the same.
So no one will feel ...
"Oh, I wish I would of received that one."
Once the sign up is complete a deadline will be selected.
So we have plenty of time to put into these Alice in Wonderland tags.
Feel free to take the Swap Badge to put on your blog linking it to my blog.
Please e-mail me with your E-mail and
Snail Mail address information

Stop Art Piracy

Renee of "The Chateau of Remnants" is my fan swap partner for the The Rococo Fan Swap hosted by the Vintage Rose. She asked me to be a contact on the flickr group...So I go over to flickr to figure it out. This part is all good. And has nothing to to do with the art piracy example that is below. It is just how I happened to be over there.....
But while I was there I checked out the other group I'm in about art piracy. And checked out this link which took me to the next link which took me to the next link. Oh my goodness. Shocking barely describes it. No need to leave a comment here. I just encourage you to check it out. The artist has since been stripped of the reward she received.

Dream in Color

Dorothy and I made a ribbon flowers yesterday. After we had them assembled we could see that the centers needed something. She got out a box of miscellaneous jewelry bits where we found the perfect centers for our flowers. They were just the right pieces of bling. Thanks Dorothy. We had too much fun making these little cuties.

Today it was a slow morning getting started so I thought I'd make a digital something. I blocked off an hours worth of time. Since I had a bridal shower to go to in a few hours and I needed time to get ready for that. So I scanned the ribbon flower I made yesterday into my computer and cleared off the bacground. Now they are her earrings in this digital collage. Other digital collage images are from Art-e-ology and Itkupilli.
I didn't have my glasses on and I see I have to go make and clean up the image.

I'm On My Own

For awhile. This is the last digital collage image Gail at Creative Workshops guided us through to create. Which helped me to discover a couple of additional effects buttons and try them out. So I will take what I've learned and start playing with my Photoshop Elements 7 and see if I come up with any worth while creations. I will be sure to share them here. I am so happy I took this class. I would encourage anyone to take her class if you have either photoshop or photoshop elements. Especially if you are a newbie like me. Money well spent. Thank You Gail.

Hit While the Iron Is Hot.

You may not know this about me but I have a sever case of "Etcha~Sketch" brain...it's there, it's there and then it's gone. Gone for the most part and I'm left wondering if I'll ever be able to get it back. So while the ol' brain bucket was in the ON mode...I had to do the latest lesson from Creative Workshop. As they say...hit it (or is it get it) while the iron is hot...(see what I mean). Sometimes I crack myself up. So this is my latest creation following to the best of my ability to what Gail did. Only one more lesson from Gail for this Collage Workshop will be next week. Then I'm on my own for awhile.

In The Learning Stages

Following What Gail did
Me, messing around with the layer effects ..Not very good
but oh so much fun.
I know, I know I'm way behind the times when it comes to digital art. So I have broken down and purchased my first computer program Adobe PhotoShop Elements 7. I have used other editing programs that come with the computer. And for the most part I'm self taught. But sometimes you just need help. In this case a lot of help. So I'm taking a class from Creative Workshops with Gail Schmit. So here are my first two projects I did this weekend.
So I'll be sharing my progress with you. Let's hope I make some.
