Baby Boy Minni book

UPDATE 3/25/10
It needed a few more things... some ribbons and a charm.
Now all it needs are some photos of a baby boy.

Well, it's been a several months since Deb and I were able to have one of our Artistic Fridays. But this past Friday was open for both of us and we took advantage of it. I have been indugent ...ok nutty.... in making up for many years of not buying Sizzix dies. Deb I joke about making a "haul" video. Who knows we  still may do it and you all can laugh along with us. Can't wait till all the Tim Hotz dies will be available. It has been frustrating for me to try arder these for my customers. They keep changing the dates of when they will be available. Oh well.
I did get the one with the Tim Holtz Sizzix flourishes and Gwendolyn if you read this I cut some out for your Tag. Just trying to decide if it is the best fit for the over all look. In addition to working on that project for Gwendolyn. We spent the day cutting out shapes and letters for future projects and some other things. Deb is working on some really unique minni book kits. She has some amazing items that are just not common place. Me not so much but I am going to put some kit's together for sale and see how it goes.
So here is a peak at the little baby boy minni photo book I'm working on. It's mostly done but I'm sure I can find a few more things to kick it up a notch.

Companies products used are:
Making Memories, Minds Eye, K & Co., Quick Quotes,
Jenni Bowlin, Details, Sizzix
My kit so far will have the shape of the overalls cut out of mat board and all the different papers to match cut out in the overalls shape too, postage stamp frames, the letters that spell out boy, the 3 baby boy tickets and some velum sayings. This is my prototype so there are things on this one that won't be in the future kit ....soon to be sold in my Etsy shop. This one is very simple and clean looking. I mean no additional distressing or antiquing. Anyway it's a work in progress.

Florals for a Beautiful Wedding

Congratulations!
Stephanie & Pat Marchionda
Steven and Debra Abel's daughter got married this past Saturday.
I am sure Deb (It's All Good) will be blogging about the wedding.
As soon as she recooperates.
So I will just share the portion that I had in contributing to the Brides vision.
I was given the honor of doing the floral arrangements.
40 centerpieces, as well as 11 boutonnieres, 4 corsages.
We....Steph, Deb and I started last fall collecting just the right colors and types of silk flowers for the brides vision. Stephanie likes carnations, peonies, gerber daisies, hydrangeas and ranunculus. Good thing that we didn't procrastinate. Because nothing that is now currently available would have fit the bill. She wanted a soft antique feel with the accent color being a soft teal blue. Some of the flowers were too white. But a little tea dyeing took care of that.

I needed to get these done before I went in for surgery. This was a good thing in more ways than one. Stress is a big factor with any event and the more that is completed to everyone's satisfaction... One less item to stress over for me and the bride. And it was really important for me that she was happy with the work I did for her. Communication is key and I think we did very well in that area.
There was no way I could of done this after I got home from the hospital. Good thing too being that I had a few health set backs after my surgery with my back going out, to breaking out in hives (as much as I tried to keep my stress level down), toping it off by catching a head cold the week of the wedding. Nothing like having cement head. Which kind of explains me forgetting my camera the day of the wedding. I was really upset with myself for that one. I had to let it go.... nothing I could do about it. So here are some photos I did happen to take along the way.
The Brides maids bouquets stems were wrapped in the ivory ribbon and
then criss crossed in the teal ribbon.
The Bride's bouquet stems were wrapped in ivory ribbon as well but
Stephanie had some teal satin fabric left over from her dress sash.
So she suggested that her stems be covered with it to match her dress perfectly.
Fab Idea! I added an accent of rhinestones near the bottom.
Totally forgot to take photos of that.

You can see the beautiful hankie and poem that
Deb made as favors.
Head table arrangement
These were taken the day before the reception
during the set up.
Thank You for giving me the privilage to be
a part of your joyous occassion.

Bead Soup Party ~ The Reveal

Video feed no longer available

Soups On! Connie from Cheetah Cheese Chatter sent plenty of ingredients for the Bead Soup Party! There was plenty to choose from. And many directions I could of gone. I have lot's of ingredients left over too. What I did end up choosing to use was for this choker style necklace in addtion to the required use focal and clasp that was sent...was the turquoise chip beads and some of the round turquoise beads, the glass leaves, the red jasper beads, the copper bells and the copper beads in addtion to the copper wire she sent and copper jump rings along with the earring wires...which I am pretty sure were hand made by her.  Then I added some pomegranate pearls, crystals, teal pearls, various copper charms and beads. I had alot of fun with this even though I lost a week of being able to create. I am grateful to our hostess Lori for the open invitation to play. If you have some time..... why not check out the others who participated in the Bead Soup Party!
